How It Works
In our sessions together we’ll go through natural movement patterns to discover how you’re using your body. By exploring what works for you, you discover your unique movement patterns free up your mobility, alleviate pain, and increase your performance.
Because all bodies work differently, it’s a discovery process – one that you’ll thoroughly enjoy.
I work with clients either in a class setting or 1:1. Together we’ll decide what’s best for you.

Q: How is this different than a massage therapist or chiropractor?
A: Generally, massage is about muscles and chiropractics is mostly about aligning the spine. Feldenkrais is a method of exploring your potential through movement. Bones, muscles and nerves work together. That’s integration! When your body systems work together, there’s no pain, you can do what you want, it feels good.
Q: I have to work hard for my body to work right…Right?
A: Nope. When you discover what your body does naturally, it adopts what it needs and creates new habits. When you repattern your habitual movements, you don’t have to think about them any longer, your body adopts. It’s easy, gentle and fun.
Q: I’ll always have a little bit of pain right? I should just learn to live with it.
A: That’s simply not true. By activating movements that you’ve unknowingly immobilized because of a specific pain, your body begins to work as a cohesive system and the pain disappears. If you are willing learn how to use your body in a way that supports you, pain becomes a non-issue.
Q: How do I know if this is going to work?
A: Honestly, you don’t. I can give you evidence that it works. There’s proof. If you’re open to go through the discovery process, willing to learn what works for you and believe that it’s possible, then it is. Your curiosity and desire to be well are your greatest tools. This method is simply a vehicle to get your body working for you, instead of against you.
Q: How long is it going to take?
A: That depends on your body and your process. You’re unique and need the time you need. That said, it can often take 3-7 sessions to resolve your issue, but we won’t really know until you try it. However, I will say you will see progress each session.
Q: Will the pain come back?
A: Sometimes it does. You’ll receive tools and ways to adapt before pain, limitation or discomfort arise. By having these awareness tools, you can dissolve the pain before it becomes acute.
